Google Launches Gemini 3: Tech Giants Musk and Altman React to Latest AI Breakthrough

Following Google's latest AI breakthrough announcement, billionaire Elon Musk quickly responded to the launch of Gemini 3. Google CEO Sundar Pichai had posted on X with "Geminiii," cleverly adding extra 'i's likely referencing the Roman numeral three. Within an hour, Musk, who heads xAI and stands as a significant competitor in artificial intelligence development, simply replied with "Congrats."

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, likewise offered positive acknowledgment of Google's achievement. The ChatGPT creator posted on X, "Congrats to Google on Gemini 3! Looks like a great model."

On Tuesday, Google unveiled Gemini 3, its most sophisticated AI model yet. Pichai explained that this new iteration combines all previous Gemini capabilities, delivering enhanced reasoning, multimodal understanding, and agentic functionality specifically designed to help users transform their ideas into reality.

Gemini 3 represents an evolution from its predecessors:

Gemini 1 pioneered native multimodality and long context windows.

Gemini 2 improved reasoning and agentic capabilities.

The latest version, Gemini 3, integrates these advancements, providing smarter intelligence that comprehends nuance, context, and intent with minimal prompting. The technology is now accessible across Google's ecosystem, including AI Mode in Search, the dedicated Gemini app, AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Google's new agentic development platform called Antigravity.

Gemini 3 Pro enhances multimodal understanding and demonstrates improved performance on key benchmarks in scientific fields, mathematics, and problem-solving. Its Deep Think mode builds upon these capabilities with upgraded reasoning abilities for tackling more complex challenges.
