DHS reported that "agitators" threw paint cans and bricks at Border Patrol vehicles during Saturday operations.

"Over the past two months, we've seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement," stated DHS in a post on X.

Immigration raids across Chicago and surrounding suburbs, including one at a daycare center this week, have triggered protests and resulted in violent arrests.

More than a dozen suburban Chicago mothers were arrested Friday outside an immigration detention facility in Broadview, a western suburb that has become a focal point for opposition to Trump's "Operation Midway Blitz."

The Chicago immigration crackdown began in September, purportedly targeting dangerous criminals without legal residency in the US. According to DHS, the operation has led to over 3,000 arrests, including US citizens and individuals with no criminal history.
