Global Reddit Outage: Thousands Unable To Access Platform, Investigation Underway

Reddit has confirmed experiencing significant technical difficulties, acknowledging "degraded performance" across its entire service network.

The popular social media platform Reddit is currently facing a widespread global outage that has affected thousands of users attempting to access the service through desktop computers, mobile devices, and web browsers. Users are reporting various issues including inability to log in, elevated error rates, pages loading only partially, broken media content, and difficulties accessing subreddit communities or comment sections.

According to Downdetector, a service that monitors technology outages, more than 20,000 users worldwide—including over 500 in India—have reported problems with Reddit. The reported issues span from website and application malfunctions to server connection failures, with users unable to post content, comment on existing posts, or browse the platform normally.

Many frustrated users took to other social platforms to report the issues, with one user tweeting: "@Reddit fix your app, it's down pic.twitter.com/uPGoFK1FuP — Sean (@SeanB859) November 4, 2025"

The company has officially acknowledged the problem, identified its source, implemented corrective measures, and is currently monitoring the platform's performance to ensure stability.

Reddit's official status account posted: "Investigating: We are aware that users are seeing increased error rates when browsing reddit and are currently investigating. https://t.co/tVxeGLZAFX — Reddit Status (@redditstatus) November 4, 2025"

A spokesperson for Reddit explained that the disruption was caused by a "bug in a recent update" and stated, "The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented. We are continuing to monitor for any further issues," according to information published in the status section of Reddit's website.

In its most recent update, Reddit has confirmed that the "incident has been resolved."

This Reddit service interruption comes shortly after a significant Amazon Web Services (AWS) disruption that affected numerous applications, including Reddit itself. Adding to the technical turbulence in the digital landscape, Microsoft's Azure network also recently experienced service outages.
