Democratic lawmakers have urged the US Justice Department to disclose all Epstein-related documents.
Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur, has been mentioned in the contentious Jeffrey Epstein files, alongside notable figures such as Bill Gates and Trump associate Steve Bannon.
Recently released by Democratic lawmakers, a six-page document reveals an itinerary indicating a potential trip by the Tesla CEO scheduled for December 6, 2014, to Epstein's property in the US Virgin Islands - a location where numerous women reported being abused by Epstein. A notation beside Musk's name questioned, "Is this still happening?" The documents do not clarify whether Musk actually made the journey.
Musk promptly denied these allegations with a concise statement on X: "This is false."
The calendar excerpts disclosed by Democrats also indicated a breakfast arrangement with Steve Bannon, a key Donald Trump ally, scheduled for February 16, 2019. Additionally, a tentative breakfast with Bill Gates on December 5, 2014, was noted in the records.
Democratic representatives have intensified their demand for the US Justice Department to release all Epstein investigation files - a request the Trump administration has rejected, stating there is no "client list," contradicting persistent conspiracy theories suggesting Epstein was blackmailing elite individuals, including prominent Democrats. Musk has been vocal in his criticism of the Trump administration since reports emerged alleging Trump had written a birthday message to Epstein in 2003.
In a subsequently removed post, Musk had suggested Trump's name appeared in the Epstein files, implying this was why certain documents remained confidential. The Tesla CEO later acknowledged the post "went too far."
Following his resignation as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after disagreements with Trump, Musk published several pointed criticisms against the Republican leader for withholding the Epstein files. On X, he questioned, "Are there likely to be electronic records in any government or commercial computers recording who travelled on Epstein's plane to the US Virgin Islands?"
In another statement, Musk pressed the US President to fulfill his promise of releasing the sex offender's case files. "Seriously. He said 'Epstein' half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised," he remarked.
