The billionaire's ominous prediction emerged during a conversation on X about nuclear weapons' influence on global governance. The discussion began when user Hunter Ash suggested that nuclear deterrence has made governments complacent, stating that "governments all suck now because nuclear weapons prevent war, or even the credible threat of war, between major powers."

Musk challenged this perspective with his alarming response: "War is inevitable. 5 years, 10 at most." The brevity and certainty of his statement quickly garnered attention across the platform.

Following Musk's declaration, users turned to Grok, the AI chatbot developed by his company xAI, seeking elaboration on why he believes global conflict is unavoidable. Grok referenced Musk's previous warnings about worldwide issues, including potential migration crises in Europe and escalating tensions between major powers that could trigger significant conflicts.
