New Delhi:
Shaheen Saeed, a key suspect in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort that killed 15 people earlier this month, was escorted to Al Falah University in Haryana's Faridabad. Stripped of her doctor title, Shaheen had been tasked with creating a team of "terror doctors" while working as a professor at Al Falah, an institution now central to the Red Fort blast investigation.
According to sources, Shaheen, who hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, was responsible for establishing the women's wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a Pakistan-based terrorist organization, within India.
On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) brought Shaheen to the university campus. They took her to multiple locations, including room number 22 where she resided, her office cabin, and the classrooms where she taught.
The NIA questioned Shaheen in the presence of university staff, inquiring about her visitors at the campus. She was also made to meet with the university's vice chancellor.
Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, another suspect in the blast case, disclosed that he and Shaheen legally married in 2023. Their wedding reportedly took place at a mosque near Al Falah University.
Both Muzammil and Shaheen were involved in establishing a terror network extending from the university to the Mewat area. Shaheen specifically focused on recruiting individuals into the network, with particular emphasis on women.
On Thursday, the NIA also took Shaheen to Khori Jamalpur in Faridabad, where she and Muzammil had rented an apartment, before returning her to Delhi.
