Police authorities have increased patrols in the vicinity of the educational institution following the incident.

Malda:

On Tuesday, a headmaster of a school was physically attacked after he stood up against the harassment of female students in Malda district, West Bengal, according to police reports.

Following the incident in Enayetpur, three individuals were taken into custody.

The headmaster, Badiuz Zaman, filed a police report against three young men from the Manikchak area. These individuals allegedly struck him and confiscated his motorcycle keys when he instructed them not to loiter in front of the school entrance and harass female students. The assault left Zaman with a bleeding forehead.

Police promptly detained the three suspects from surrounding areas after receiving the complaint.

According to community members, female students had been reporting harassment by a group of young men who regularly gathered near the school entrance during morning and afternoon hours.

A police representative confirmed that surveillance has been strengthened around the school premises.
