BJP Uses Traditional Parrot Fortune-Telling to Mock Congress Power Struggle in Karnataka

BJP members in Karnataka have employed a creative satirical method to criticize the Congress government regarding the ongoing power struggle in the state. In Mandya, they utilized a traditional parrot fortune-telling performance to target Chief Minister Siddaramiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over their leadership contest.

In the circulated video, BJP workers were seen consulting the fortune-teller's parrot to predict whether Karnataka would benefit more with Siddaramaiah remaining as Chief Minister or with Shivakumar assuming the position. The parrot selected a card displaying a chambu, which is a small metallic container traditionally used for water storage.

When questioned about Shivakumar potentially becoming the next chief minister, the parrot chose a card featuring flowers.

The BJP leveraged this performance to criticize the ruling Congress party in the state. Party representatives claimed that the Congress administration had provided citizens with nothing but an empty chambu and placed flowers in their ears, suggesting the public had been deceived.

Elsewhere in Bagalkote, supporters of Shivakumar conducted a special religious ceremony at a temple for their leader. During this ritual, the deputy chief minister's photograph was positioned before the deity, with prayers being led by the district unit leader.

Supporters of both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have been engaged in an ongoing dispute over the chief minister position, against the backdrop of a rumored power-sharing arrangement between the two prominent Congress figures.

Siddaramaiah has repeatedly emphasized that he intends to complete his full term despite regular demands from Shivakumar's supporters for a leadership transition.
