Gurugram Doctor Arrested For Running Over 4-Year-Old Boy With Car: Cops

A government doctor has been apprehended in Gurugram for allegedly fatally striking a four-year-old boy with his vehicle in Surat Nagar Phase 2 on September 15, according to police statements released Saturday.

The suspect, Dr. Hitesh Sharma, was taken into custody on Friday, and authorities have impounded his automobile as evidence.

Based on the police report, the incident occurred while the young boy was playing near his residence when an SUV operated by Sharma collided with him and drove over him.

"The vehicle operator (Sharma) halted the car and exited, but upon observing the child's severe injuries, he hastily departed from the scene in his vehicle," stated Jitender, the father of the victim, in his official complaint.

Jitender additionally noted that with assistance from nearby residents, he transported his son to a government medical facility, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased.

Law enforcement officials indicated that following the complaint, a First Information Report was registered against the driver at Rajendra Park police station, leading to Sharma's arrest on Friday.
