Mumbai Police Summons Actor Shraddha Kapoor's Brother In Drug Seizure Case

Siddhanth Kapoor, previously detained in Bengaluru in 2022 on drug consumption charges, has been summoned by Mumbai Police regarding a new drug seizure investigation.

Mumbai authorities have called upon Bollywood actor-director Siddhanth Kapoor to provide his statement in connection with a significant drug seizure case, according to officials on Friday.

Siddhanth Kapoor, brother of prominent actor Shraddha Kapoor, is scheduled to appear before authorities on November 25. Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, commonly known as Orry, has been rescheduled to appear on November 26 after failing to present himself on Thursday as initially requested.

The Anti Narcotics Cell's (ANC) Ghatkopar unit issued these summons after both celebrities were implicated during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh. Shaikh is a primary suspect in a substantial case involving the seizure of mephedrone worth Rs 252 crore.

During questioning, Shaikh allegedly revealed that certain personalities from the film and fashion industries, a politician, and a relative of fugitive crime lord Dawood Ibrahim had participated in rave parties that he organized both domestically and internationally.

It's worth noting that this isn't Siddhanth Kapoor's first encounter with drug-related investigations, as he was previously detained in Bengaluru in 2022 on charges of drug consumption.

ANC officials had requested Orry's presence for questioning on Thursday, but he requested additional time before appearing.

Shaikh, also referred to as 'Lavish,' was recently deported from Dubai. He was initially arrested in connection with a Rs 252 crore mephedrone seizure in Maharashtra's Sangli district, and subsequently apprehended by the ANC's Ghatkopar division.
