Fatal Bus Collision in Hardoi: 1 Dead and 16 Injured After Vehicle Struck on Lucknow Highway

The tragic collision occurred near Khajurmai Tiraha within the Baghauil police station jurisdiction.

One man lost his life and 16 others sustained injuries when a private bus was struck head-on by an unidentified vehicle traveling from the opposite direction on Wednesday afternoon. The impact caused the bus to veer off the Lucknow Highway and crash into a nearby field, according to officials.

The accident took place near Khajurmai Tiraha in the Baghauil police station area, authorities confirmed.

The bus, which was carrying approximately 50 passengers, was hit by an unknown vehicle coming from the opposite direction, causing it to leave the Lucknow Highway and enter an adjacent field.

The collision resulted in one passenger fatality and injuries to 16 others. Of those injured, six were in critical condition and were admitted to a joint district hospital. Two critically injured passengers were subsequently transferred to Lucknow for specialized medical care, as reported by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Anil Kumar Shukla.

Police stated that several passengers were treated with first aid and discharged.

The deceased victim remains unidentified. Among those severely injured were Sushma (60), Sunil (45), Chhoti (35), Roshan (30), Rajesh (45), and Chameli (45), wife of Ramashray, who are all currently receiving treatment in Hardoi.

Circle Officer Praveen Kumar stated that the cause of the accident is under investigation, and authorities are working to identify the vehicle that collided with the bus.
