Minor Girl With Mental Health Issues Repeatedly Raped in Uttar Pradesh: Investigation Underway

A medical examination revealed the victim was pregnant following the assault.

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur have reported that a minor girl with mental health challenges was subjected to multiple sexual assaults.

The authorities only became aware of the crime after a medical examination determined the victim was pregnant.

Following a formal complaint from the victim's mother, police have registered a case against the accused and are actively working to take him into custody.

According to the official complaint, the accused, identified as Shri Ram, allegedly enticed the girl to an area near a college outside her village on November 16. He sexually assaulted the minor and threatened her life if she disclosed the incident to anyone. Reports indicate that the perpetrator committed similar offenses multiple times against her.

The ongoing abuse was only discovered when the victim underwent a hospital examination, which confirmed her pregnancy.

"We have registered a case against the accused, Shri Ram, under the relevant provisions of the BNS and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act on November 19, 2025, based on the written statement provided by the mother," stated SHO Umesh Kumar Singh.

He added, "Law enforcement is currently making all efforts to apprehend the accused."
