The Al Falah University in Haryana's Faridabad has been identified as the potential origin point for the Delhi Red Fort terror attack. Intelligence sources informed NDTV that at least 10 individuals, including three from Kashmir, who were affiliated with the university as students or staff have disappeared. Their mobile phones are currently switched off.
The disappearance was brought to light following a coordinated operation between Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police. While investigations are still in preliminary stages, intelligence inputs suggest these missing individuals might be connected to the 'terror doctor' module responsible for detonating a Hyundai i20 filled with ammonium nitrate fuel oil outside the historic Mughal fort.
Earlier reports indicate that Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Pakistan-based terrorist organization believed to be behind the Red Fort blast, has been soliciting 'donations' of PKR 20,000 to finance additional 'fidayeen' (suicide) attacks.
The investigation into the Red Fort blast has revealed that Jaish leaders have been fundraising through digital platforms, including a Pakistani application called SadaPay, and may be planning an attack led by women operatives.
Jaish-e-Mohammed already maintains a 'women's wing' called Jamat ul-Muminat, headed by Sadiya Azhar, sister of terror leader Masood Azhar. This unit was established after Operation Sindoor, India's military response to the Pahalgam attack, destroyed JeM facilities in Pakistan's Bahawalpur region.
Dr. Shahina Saeed, a key suspect in the Red Fort blast who allegedly operated under the codename 'Madam Surgeon' and may have financed the attack, is reportedly affiliated with this women's unit.
The blast claimed fifteen lives and marked Delhi's first encounter with VBIEDs (Vehicular-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices). Officials familiar with the investigation have attributed the attack to a cell operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The driver of the explosive-laden i20, identified as Dr. Umar Mohammad, died in the explosion. Nine additional suspects, including three doctors from Al-Falah Medical College, have been taken into custody.
On Tuesday, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, founder of Al Falah University, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case linked to terror financing.
