Woman Severs Man's Tongue After Sexual Assault Attempt in Kanpur: A Self-Defense Case

The woman severed a portion of the man's tongue by biting it forcefully during his unwanted advances.

A woman bit off part of a man's tongue after he allegedly molested her and attempted to kiss her against her will. The man, known as Champi from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, is married and reportedly had a previous relationship with the woman.

Champi, 35, was apparently distressed about the woman's forthcoming marriage to someone chosen by her family. According to police, after the woman became engaged and distanced herself from Champi, he became troubled and repeatedly tried to make contact with her.

On Monday afternoon, the woman had gone alone to a local pond. Champi followed her there, where he proceeded to grab her and molest her.

Despite the woman's resistance and attempts to fight him off, Champi continued his assault and forced a kiss on her. In response, the woman bit down hard on Champi's tongue, severing part of it.

Champi screamed in pain and began bleeding heavily. Villagers heard his cries and gathered at the scene, informing his family who transported him to the Community Health Center (CHC).

Following initial medical treatment, doctors referred Champi to a larger hospital in Kanpur for further care.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dinesh Tripathi, verified the incident and stated that authorities had registered a case against the man and were proceeding with legal action.
