A viral social media video has placed a Rajasthan Roadways driver named Parasmal in serious trouble. The footage, captured on an Ajmer-Kota route bus, shows the driver operating the vehicle while wearing only white short pants. Reports indicate that Parasmal occasionally wears a vest but frequently drives without proper attire.
The controversial video also revealed the driver playing the romantic Bollywood song "Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam" from "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" at an extremely high volume. Furthermore, sources report that food items were visible on the steering wheel as he drove.
In response to these violations, Rajasthan Roadways headquarters has suspended Parasmal with immediate effect. During his suspension, he will be reassigned to the Rajsamand depot and receive only a subsistence allowance.
The Executive Director of Administration has classified Parasmal's behavior as a severe breach of discipline that put passenger safety at risk. Ravi Sharma, Chief Manager of Ajmer depot, has committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation and implementing strict disciplinary measures against the driver.
In a separate development affecting Rajasthan, the Supreme Court has severely criticized state authorities for failing to address pollution in the Jojari River. A bench consisting of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta expressed shock at the "unbelievable" suffering imposed on approximately two million people due to this environmental crisis.
The court, while hearing a suo motu case regarding water contamination in the Jojari River, described the situation as "alarming." The justices noted that common effluent treatment plants were being bypassed, allowing untreated effluent to flow directly into the waterway.
