Al-Falah University Campus Identified as Location of Delhi Bomber's Video Recording

Investigators have determined that Dr Umar Mohammad, the Red Fort suicide bomber, recorded his final video at Al-Falah University in Faridabad. The 70-acre campus has been identified as the operational center for the terrorist cell, with multiple members working at its medical school. The recording was made in Building No 17 before Mohammad detonated explosives near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, following the arrest of his co-conspirators.

'Shot On Al-Falah Campus, In Building 17': Sources On Delhi Bomber Video

New Delhi:

Initial analysis of the undated self-recorded video featuring Dr Umar Mohammad – the suicide bomber responsible for the Red Fort explosion – suggests it was filmed at Al-Falah University campus in Haryana's Faridabad, according to officials close to the investigation who spoke with NDTV.

The 70-acre educational institution, located 27 kilometers beyond the Delhi-Haryana border, has emerged as the central hub for this terrorist cell's activities. Multiple members of the group, including Umar Mohammad, were employed at the university's Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre.

Investigative agencies are currently working to determine when the video was recorded, sources informed NDTV. Present evidence indicates the recording took place in Building No 17 on campus – specifically in Room No 13, where Mohammed and Shakeel resided and where the terrorists formulated their plans.

Sources also revealed the video appears to have been created before the arrests of Dr Muzammil Shakeel and Dr Shahina Saeed, two of Mohammad's fellow conspirators. NDTV was informed that Mohammad may have produced this video – which discusses suicide bombings – for purposes beyond the immediate attack.

This purpose could potentially be to radicalize others, following the same pattern through which Islamic cleric Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Waghe from Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian had radicalized Mohammad, Dr Shakeel, and Dr Adil Rather.

Earlier reports indicated Shakeel's arrest had caused Mohammad to panic, prompting him to execute the Red Fort attack earlier than planned. Shakeel was apprehended by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Faridabad, where authorities discovered 2,950 kg of explosives in two rooms rented under his name.

The arrests occurred late morning on November 10.

Later that same day, Mohammed drove an explosive-laden Hyundai i20, containing ammonium nitrate fuel oil among other materials, throughout Delhi before detonating it at a busy traffic intersection near the Red Fort.

The video appears to have been filmed in an upper-floor room of Building No 17, where Mohammed and Shakeel resided. At the conclusion of the recording, he points the camera toward an open window, suggesting the room's elevated location.

Sources stated that additional details will only become available following a comprehensive investigation.
