The bodies of a forest official's wife and their two children were discovered in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Sunday after being missing for ten days, according to police reports.
Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Shailesh Khambhla had reported his wife Nayana Rabari (40), nine-year-old son, and thirteen-year-old daughter as missing on November 6, Bhavnagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Nitesh Pandey informed reporters.
"Police received information about suspicious digging activity near Khambhla's quarters in the Forest Colony around November 6. An investigation team comprising police officers, Forensic Science Laboratory personnel, and a sniffer dog conducted a search this morning, resulting in the recovery of three bodies. Family members identified them as Nayana Rabari and her two children," Pandey stated.
According to the SP, Shailesh Khambhla is currently being treated as a suspect in the investigation.
The family, who had been residing in Surat, had traveled to Bhavnagar to visit Khambhla during a vacation before they were reported missing.
