New Delhi:
Two separate FIRs have been registered by Delhi Police's Crime Branch against Al-Falah University in Haryana following serious allegations raised by regulatory bodies, according to an official statement released Saturday.
The cases, which involve charges of cheating and forgery, stem from concerns raised by both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) regarding alleged false accreditation claims made by the university.
Officials revealed that the legal action was prompted after both regulatory organizations identified "major irregularities" during their evaluation of the institution's operations, necessitating law enforcement intervention.
In a related development, Delhi Police Special Cell had previously filed a separate FIR under sections related to criminal conspiracy to investigate a broader plot connected to a blast incident. The initial FIR registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has since been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The university campus is situated at Dhauj in Haryana's Faridabad on the outskirts of Delhi. Police investigators also conducted a visit to the Al-Falah University headquarters located in Delhi's Okhla area, seeking additional information about suspects earlier in the day. The investigation remains ongoing, according to police officials.
