BSP Clinches Narrow Victory in Bihar's Ramgarh: Mayawati's Party Wins by Just 30 Votes

Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has achieved a significant political breakthrough in Bihar, with candidate Satish Kumar Yadav winning the Ramgarh seat by a razor-thin margin of 30 votes against BJP incumbent Ashok Kumar Singh. This marks the BSP's first recent electoral victory in Bihar, in a constituency that has traditionally oscillated between the RJD and BJP since 2005.

Mayawati's Party Wins Ramgarh Seat In Bihar By 30 Votes

New Delhi:

In a significant political development, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by Mayawati has secured a victory in Bihar's Ramgarh constituency. BSP candidate Satish Kumar Yadav emerged victorious with 72,689 votes, defeating BJP incumbent Ashok Kumar Singh by an extremely narrow margin of just 30 votes.

This win marks a notable achievement for the BSP, which previously held power in Uttar Pradesh from 2007 to 2012 but failed to win any seats in that state during last year's Lok Sabha election. The Ramgarh victory represents the party's first significant electoral success in Bihar in recent years.

The Ramgarh constituency has historically alternated between Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2005. RJD's Sudhakar Singh had claimed the seat in 2020, while Ashok Kumar Singh of the BJP won in the subsequent by-election four years later, before now being defeated by the BSP candidate.
