Air India's Toronto-Delhi Flight Gets Bomb Threat

The flight landed safely at the Delhi airport at approximately 3:40 pm.

On Thursday, authorities received a bomb threat message concerning an Air India flight en route from Toronto to Delhi. According to sources, the aircraft subsequently landed safely in India's capital city.
Delhi Police received the threatening message regarding flight AI188 in the morning. Following protocol, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was promptly established at Delhi airport, which evaluated the threat as "non-specific," sources informed PTI.
The alarming message was received around 11:30 am while the Boeing 777 aircraft was airborne and approximately four hours away from reaching Delhi, according to the sources.
When contacted about the incident, an Air India spokesperson confirmed that a security alert had been communicated regarding flight AI188 during its journey from Toronto to Delhi on Thursday.
"The on-board crew implemented all prescribed security protocols, maintaining passenger safety and security as the highest priority. The aircraft has landed safely in Delhi and has been positioned for mandatory security inspections by security personnel as per standard procedure," the spokesperson stated.
The airline representative further confirmed that all passengers and crew members had disembarked without incident.
The flight touched down at Delhi airport at approximately 3:40 pm.
According to information available on the flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, the Toronto-Delhi route operated by the Boeing 777 aircraft typically has a duration slightly exceeding 15 hours.
