The Bihar Police has initiated legal proceedings against RJD MLC Sunil Singh, a close associate of Lalu Prasad Yadav, following allegedly inflammatory statements made on the eve of Bihar Assembly election results.

After Singh's controversial remarks, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar instructed officials to file a case against him, leading the Patna Cyber Police Station to commence legal action.

Sub-Inspector Khushbu Kumari from the Patna Cyber Police Station has submitted a formal complaint regarding the incident.

In her report, she documented, "Information was received around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday through social media and electronic channels that RJD MLC Sunil Singh was making provocative statements about vote counting. These comments could potentially incite hatred, disrupt public peace, and create communal tensions, posing risks to law and order. Legal action is therefore requested."

Authorities are currently examining digital evidence related to Singh's statements as part of their ongoing investigation.

The vote counting for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is scheduled for Friday, November 14.

A day before the results, Sunil Singh reportedly warned that if any "rigging" occurred during the counting process, the public would create a "Nepal-like situation" in Bihar.

Singh stated, "During the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, the counting process was delayed by 4 to 5 hours. If the same were to happen tomorrow, either our candidate would exit the counting centers or the returning officers would."

He further cautioned that such a situation would be difficult to control, suggesting that RJD supporters would protest in the streets if they perceived manipulation of results.

The RJD leader also claimed that certain elements within the government might attempt to interfere with the counting process.

These statements have once again placed Sunil Kumar Singh in the spotlight of controversy, reinforcing his reputation for making outspoken comments.
