Brother Defends Imam's Innocence in Terror Investigation as NIA Probes Al-Falah Medical College Connection

The National Investigation Agency is expanding its investigation into the Delhi car blast case with focus on Al-Falah Medical College, while Mohammad Shahbad defends his brother Imam Mohammad Ishityaq against terror-related accusations. The case involves a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad module, with one suspect deceased following the explosion near Red Fort that prompted national mourning.

Innocent Claims Emerge in White Collar Terror Case Investigation

The National Investigation Agency is preparing to visit Al-Falah Medical College as part of their ongoing investigation.

Haryana:

Mohammad Shahbad, brother of detained Imam Mohammad Ishityaq, has strongly defended his sibling's innocence regarding alleged connections to the white-collar terror case on Wednesday, insisting that all accusations are completely unfounded.

During his ANI interview, Shahbad explained, "He has served as the imam at the Al Falah University masjid for two decades. I arranged his position there before he married. His family resides there with him. We regularly visit one another. He purchased land in Fatehpur and constructed rental accommodations. Doctor Muzammil rented one of those rooms. We have no knowledge of when this rental arrangement began."

Continuing his defense, Shahbad stated, "Landlords don't monitor tenants' daily activities. We only interact with tenants when collecting rent. Media reports now indicate weapons and explosives were discovered in that tenant's room. The allegations against my brother are entirely false. Our family has never faced such accusations before. All my brothers serve as imams."

The National Investigation Agency plans to investigate Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad's Dhouj as they expand their probe into the Delhi car explosion case, which appears to involve a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) network.

Additional weapons, pistols, and explosives were recovered from Al-Falah Medical College on November 8.

The medical institution has become central to the investigation after security forces discovered explosives on its grounds during coordinated search operations.

Investigations have revealed that Dr. Muzammil, employed at Al-Falah Medical College, was arrested for his alleged participation in the network. Another suspect, Dr. Umar, also employed at the same institution, evaded capture when authorities intensified their crackdown on the organization.

The fugitive Dr. Umar, under pressure from ongoing security operations, likely acted out of desperation, resulting in the explosion near the Red Fort. He perished in the incident. CCTV evidence suggests Dr. Umar was operating the vehicle involved in the explosion.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed deep sorrow on Wednesday regarding the lives lost in the terrorist incident involving the car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort on Monday evening.

Cabinet members observed two minutes of silence honoring the innocent victims.
