India Successfully Elected to Interpol Asian Committee During Singapore Conference

India was represented at the Asian Regional Conference by a delegation from the Central Bureau of Investigation
New Delhi:
Officials reported on Friday that India has been elected as a member of the Interpol Asian Committee during the 25th Asian Regional Conference hosted in Singapore.
According to authorities, India's successful election, which involved a multi-stage voting process, is anticipated to enhance regional collaboration on key security challenges, including organized crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, terrorism, and drug trafficking.
"The committee will convene annually to discuss regional security matters and provide direction for coordinated initiatives among member nations," stated a CBI spokesperson in an official release.
The Central Bureau of Investigation, which serves as the exclusive national central bureau for Interpol-related activities, represented India at the Asian Regional Conference.
"This committee's role is to advise the Asian Regional Conference in fulfilling its mandate and facilitate discussions by offering clear insights into the strategic and operational challenges at hand," the spokesperson explained.
The official further noted that the committee will identify regional strategic priorities in combating crime and addressing police cooperation issues specific to the Asia region.
India has actively engaged in international policing initiatives with dedication to global policing objectives, while strengthening security cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region.
With a long-standing history of representation at Interpol's highest levels, this election demonstrates India's expanding global leadership in law enforcement and transnational security matters, according to the spokesperson.
