15-Year-Old Girl Murdered by Parents in Uttar Pradesh Honor Killing Case

Police officials have apprehended the parents involved in a tragic honor killing case in Uttar Pradesh.

A disturbing case of honor killing has emerged from Kanti village in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj, where a 15-year-old girl was murdered by her own parents, according to police statements released on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Sarita, was killed on November 5. Authorities were alerted when her body was discovered near some bushes in the village the following day, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Yadav in his statement to PTI.

During the course of the investigation, the father, identified as Ramesh, initially attempted to mislead investigators but subsequently confessed to committing the crime.

In his confession, Ramesh revealed that he was enraged by his daughter's continued communication with several young men from the village, which persisted despite his explicit prohibitions.

According to police reports, on the night of November 5, Sarita's mother allegedly administered sedatives to the teenager. After this, the couple transported their unconscious daughter approximately 70-80 meters from their residence, where Ramesh used a sharp-edged weapon to slit her throat.

"This is a case of honor killing," confirmed DCP Yadav unequivocally.

Both parents have been taken into custody and are currently undergoing interrogation by authorities.
