Man Arrested for Directing Girlfriend to Install Hidden Camera in Tata Women's Hostel Bathroom

The boyfriend of a woman who installed a hidden camera in a bathroom at a women's hostel in Tamil Nadu's Hosur has been apprehended by authorities in Delhi on Friday.

Ravi Pratap Singh, the identified suspect, was taken into custody in Delhi and subsequently transferred to Tamil Nadu on Saturday for further interrogation.

This arrest follows the earlier detention of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Neelu Kumari Gupta, an employee at the hostel facility. According to investigators, Singh had directed Neelu to place a recording device in the bathroom.

The incident prompted hundreds of female employees from Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd at Nagamangalam village in Krishnagiri district to organize a protest after the discovery of the hidden camera in a bathroom at the company's Vidiyal Residency hostel.

Krishnagiri Superintendent of Police P Thangadurai confirmed: "We have secured him from Delhi. We have arrested him and will remand him. So far, no other devices have been found."

Police investigations revealed that Neelu had captured at least one video using the device in the washroom of the company-provided accommodation. The violation came to light when a resident from Maharashtra alerted authorities, resulting in the seizure of the tiny recording device.

Officials stated that while the woman had intended to send the footage to her boyfriend, the device was confiscated before any video could be transmitted. Currently, there is no evidence suggesting that any footage was distributed online.

According to law enforcement, the couple initially met while working in Bihar. Ravi, originally from Ludhiana, had traveled to Bengaluru to meet his girlfriend.

Tata Electronics has not released an official statement regarding the case.

Police have indicated that investigations are continuing to determine if others were involved in the incident and whether additional recordings were made.
