Violent Confrontation Between Kerala Students in Bengaluru Captured on Video Leads to Police Case

Police have initiated legal proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following a violent confrontation in Bengaluru.

Social media platforms have been circulating videos showing a street altercation between two groups of students from Kerala studying in Bengaluru's Thammenahalli neighborhood, prompting law enforcement intervention.

The violent incident occurred on Wednesday outside a private educational institution situated on Hesaraghatta Road in North Bengaluru.

The grainy footage reveals several young men and a female standing in a residential area. One male individual appears without a shirt. The video then shows four men entering the scene and attacking the shirtless individual with wooden sticks. The footage captures the victim attempting to defend himself against the assault.

The attackers quickly dispersed when bystanders began to gather at the scene of the incident.

Law enforcement officials opened an investigation after receiving a formal complaint from a woman who stated that a man who had been stalking her for approximately two years arrived at her residence during late hours accompanied by four accomplices. According to her statement, the group verbally harassed her, threatened to plant narcotics in her living quarters, and physically assaulted her friend who attempted to intervene, resulting in bleeding injuries.

The complainant further alleged that the perpetrators issued death threats before fleeing when local residents began to gather.

Authorities have registered a formal case under the applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
