Madhya Pradesh Police Integrates Bhagavad Gita Into Constable Training Program Following Ramcharitmanas Initiative

Madhya Pradesh Police has expanded its spiritual training program by implementing Bhagavad Gita recital sessions for approximately 4,000 constable trainees across eight training facilities. Additional Director General Raja Babu Singh believes these sessions, which complement existing Ramcharitmanas readings, will guide recruits toward righteous living. The initiative continues Singh's history of incorporating sacred texts into law enforcement training.

Madhya Pradesh To Conduct Bhagavad Gita Sessions For Constables Training

Madhya Pradesh Police training division has instructed all training centers to implement Bhagavad Gita recital sessions for new recruits. This initiative follows the earlier introduction of Ramcharitmanas readings.

Bhopal:

The Madhya Pradesh Police training wing has expanded its spiritual education program by mandating Bhagavad Gita recital sessions across all eight training facilities, following the previous implementation of Ramcharitmanas readings. Officials believe these sessions will help approximately 4,000 young trainees develop a "righteous" lifestyle.

Additional Director General of Police (Training) Raja Babu Singh issued these directives to superintendents of all training schools in the state. The recruits, who began their nine-month constable training program in July, were already participating in Ramcharitmanas recitals, which Singh introduced to foster discipline among trainees. The Ramcharitmanas text narrates Lord Rama's virtues and his 14-year forest exile.

Singh, a 1994-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has specifically requested training directors to incorporate readings from at least one Bhagavad Gita chapter during the holy month of Lord Krishna (Agahan Krishna). He suggested conducting these sessions immediately before the trainees' daily meditation practice.

"Bhagavad Gita is our eternal scripture. Its regular reading will definitely guide our trainees to lead a righteous life, and their life will get better," the ADG stated in his communication to the training institutions.

This is not Singh's first initiative involving the sacred text. Around 2019, while serving as Gwalior range police head, he organized a similar program, distributing copies of the Bhagavad Gita to local jail inmates and community members.
