Punjab Police successfully recovered an arsenal including two Glock pistols, one Zegana pistol, and one PX30 pistol during a recent operation.

In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab collaborated with Hoshiarpur Police to apprehend two active members of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, officials announced on Friday.

The suspects have been identified as Swinder Singh (alias Bodhi) and Sukhman (alias Jashan), both hailing from Kalanaur in Gurdaspur. During the arrest, authorities seized sophisticated firearms from their possession, including two Glock pistols, a Zegana pistol, a PX30 pistol, and a motorcycle.

Director General of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, shared details of the operation on social media platform X: "In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (#AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with #Hoshiarpur Police, arrests two active members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang -- Swinder Singh @ Bodhi and Sukhman @ Jashan -- both residents of Kalanaur, #Gurdaspur, and recovers sophisticated weapons from their possession."

Initial investigations reveal that the arrested individuals were operating under instructions from a foreign handler named Amrit Dalam. The suspects are reportedly linked to a shooting incident at a medical shop in Wadala Bangar, Kalanaur, where they allegedly targeted Dr. Hari Singh.

Authorities have registered an FIR under the Arms Act at Police Station Dasuya in Hoshiarpur district. The police social media statement detailed: "Preliminary investigation reveals that the duo was acting on the directions of their foreign-handler Amrit Dalam and are wanted in a firing incident at a medical shop in Wadala Bangar, Kalanaur targeting Dr. Hari Singh. Recovery: 2 Glock Pistols, 1 Zegana Pistol, 1 PX30 Pistol and 1 Motorcycle."

DGP Yadav emphasized the police department's ongoing commitment: "FIR has been registered under Arms Act at PS Dasuya, #Hoshiarpur. Further investigation is underway. @PunjabPoliceInd remains committed to dismantling gangster networks operating across #Punjab."

This arrest follows another recent success on November 1, when Punjab Police detained two individuals connected to firing incidents in Gurdaspur related to extortion attempts. In that case, preliminary investigations indicated the arrested suspects were being directed by foreign-based radicalized gangsters Gurdev Jassal and Gurlal (alias Gullu), who have associations with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organization.

Punjab Police continues its intensive efforts against organized crime groups operating in the region as investigations proceed further.
