A heroic split-second action saved a teenage girl's life in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria when a man courageously intervened as she attempted to jump from a bridge.

The distressed 14-year-old was observed sitting on one of the Old Patanwa bridge pillars, visibly crying. Police responded quickly to the situation, with one team engaging the girl in conversation while another positioned themselves at the pillar's base.

As the tense scene unfolded before police and bystanders, the girl suddenly jumped from the pillar. In a remarkable display of bravery, a man leaped onto the pillar simultaneously and managed to grab her arm. Others quickly joined the rescue effort, helping to pull the girl to safety.

Following the incident, authorities transported the girl to the police station and contacted her family. Family members explained that the girl had been out with her aunt before they became separated. Her mother revealed that when upset, the girl typically cries profusely and becomes withdrawn.
