Indian Trekker Dies of Altitude Sickness at 4,200 Meters on Nepal's Annapurna Circuit
A 54-year-old Indian trekker, Pintu Mukherji, has died from high-altitude sickness near Thorang Pass on Nepal's Annapurna Circuit. After complaining of chest pain and collapsing during the trek, he passed away while being transported to a medical facility from an elevation of 4,200 meters.

A 54-year-old Indian trekker lost his life due to altitude sickness near Thorang Pass in Nepal's Annapurna Circuit on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at an elevation of 4,200 meters.
Pintu Mukherji began experiencing chest discomfort after hiking for five hours toward the mountain. During the trek along the Annapurna Circuit, he collapsed while accompanied by four other team members.
Following the incident, the trekking group returned to their accommodation, according to a police officer from the District Police Office in Manang. The Manang district is located approximately 400 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu.
Tragically, Mukherji passed away while being transported on a stretcher by a porter toward the nearest medical facility.
