The 'Satyacha Morcha' protest march commenced from Fashion Street in Mumbai's southern district during the afternoon hours.

Mumbai:

On Saturday, the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP), alongside the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, organized a demonstration against alleged voter list irregularities that the Opposition claims have been benefiting the governing BJP.

The 'Satyacha Morcha' (march for truth) began at Fashion Street in southern Mumbai and proceeded toward the BMC headquarters approximately one kilometer away. Prominent political figures including former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, and Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat participated in the event.

These leaders were scheduled to address a rally at the conclusion of the march, highlighting various voter list discrepancies such as duplicate entries, improper removals and additions. The Opposition has criticized the Election Commission of India for allegedly ignoring these issues and has insisted that local body elections in Maharashtra should only proceed after these deficiencies are addressed.

Congress representatives Naseem Khan, Satej Patil, and Bhai Jagtap, along with NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, joined thousands of party workers in the demonstration.

Raj Thackeray, accompanied by his supporters and party colleague Bala Nandgaonkar, traveled by train from Dadar station to Churchgate. During an earlier gathering in Mumbai this week, Thackeray had encouraged MNS members to use public transportation to reach the protest venue.
