Hyderabad:

At least six individuals lost their lives in various rain-related incidents following heavy downpours across Telangana due to Cyclone 'Montha' on October 29, according to police and district officials on Friday.

In Siddipet district, a couple was tragically washed away while attempting to cross a flooded stream on their two-wheeler, with their bodies being recovered on Friday, police reported.

A woman in Jangaon district perished after being swept away by floodwaters, as confirmed by a district official.

Other fatalities included a man who died when an uprooted roadside tree fell on him while he was riding a motorcycle in Suryapet district, and an elderly woman who was killed in a wall collapse in Mahabubabad district. Additionally, a bedridden man in his mid-60s died when floodwaters entered his residence in Warangal, officials stated.

Multiple incidents of people going missing after being swept away by floodwaters have also been reported.

The heavy rainfall on October 29 resulted in waterlogged roads and flooding of low-lying areas across numerous locations including Warangal, Hanamakonda, Mahabubabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, and Siddipet districts.
