New Delhi:

An NDTV senior producer experienced a frightening chase by two men early Friday while driving home from her office in Noida's Sector-129. The incident occurred after the journalist left her workplace at 12:45 am, heading toward her residence in Delhi's Vasant Kunj.

Authorities have apprehended the perpetrators, identified as Deepak and Shubham from Delhi's Dabri area. Both men have multiple criminal cases against them.

The two individuals were employed as bartenders and were intoxicated during the pursuit of the journalist.

The Incident

The journalist recounted that while driving her Ford Figo along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Deepak and Shubham began following her on a scooter.

"They attempted to force me to stop. I initially disregarded them, but soon realized they were trying to obstruct my vehicle. They signaled for me to pull over, but I continued driving. I began recording them with my phone hoping to deter them," she explained.

She further described how, when traffic slowed her progress on the expressway, Shubham dismounted from the scooter and struck her car's front window. He then approached her side and tried to open the door, which fortunately was secured.

"I accelerated and managed to reach the DND Flyway. However, the men continued their pursuit. I contacted a colleague seeking advice, who urged me to keep driving and not stop under any circumstances," she stated.

The journalist also reported that Shubham wielded a wooden object to smash her car's rear windshield and left rear window.

Taxi Drivers' Intervention

Upon reaching the Ashram area, the journalist contacted police and shared her location. When she arrived at Lajpat Nagar, she encountered a group of taxi drivers who immediately recognized her distress.

"I requested their assistance, and they advised me to park to the side. After stopping my car at Lajpat Nagar's Gupta market, the two men on the scooter disappeared," she added.

Police arrived at the location, recorded the woman's statement, and instructed her to file a First Information Report (FIR).
