Bengaluru:
A fatal road rage incident in Bengaluru resulted in a man's death following a minor traffic collision. Police have arrested the accused couple, Manoj Kumar and his wife Aarti Sharma. The deadly confrontation occurred in Puttenahalli area on October 25 evening.
The victim, Darshan, was traveling on a motorcycle with his friend Varun riding pillion, while Kumar and Sharma were driving a car.
What initially began as a minor accident involving the motorcycle and the car's side mirror quickly escalated into a dangerous pursuit.
CCTV surveillance footage revealed that the enraged couple chased Darshan and Varun for approximately two kilometers before deliberately ramming into their motorcycle.
Darshan succumbed to injuries sustained during this violent road rage incident.
The collision threw both Darshan and Varun from their motorcycle, causing serious injuries. While Varun survived the attack, Darshan unfortunately lost his life.
Police investigation uncovered disturbing details about the incident. After initially missing the motorcyclists, Kumar and Sharma made a U-turn and deliberately struck them on their second attempt.
After the collision, the couple abandoned the scene but later returned wearing masks to retrieve broken pieces of their vehicle before fleeing again.
What was initially recorded as a traffic accident case has now been reclassified as murder motivated by road rage.
Authorities have charged Kumar and Sharma with murder and are continuing their investigation into this shocking incident.
