A double-decker sleeper bus carrying 70 passengers caught fire near the Revri toll plaza on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway early Sunday. All passengers were safely evacuated without any injuries reported.

The bus was en route from Delhi to Gonda via Lucknow when it suddenly ignited approximately 500 metres before reaching the toll plaza.

Officials informed PTI that police teams and fire brigade personnel promptly arrived at the scene after receiving alerts. The bus driver and conductor successfully evacuated all passengers to safety.

According to preliminary information provided by the bus driver to police, the fire appears to have originated in one of the wheels due to unknown causes, rapidly spreading throughout the entire vehicle.

Authorities later removed the bus from the roadway, restoring normal traffic flow. The bus company arranged an alternative vehicle to ensure all passengers could continue their journey.
