Tragedy in Mirzapur: Mother with Mental Health Issues Takes Children's Lives Before Suicide

An ongoing investigation is being conducted into this tragic case (Representational).
Mirzapur:
On Saturday evening, police reported that a woman with mental health challenges took the lives of her two children before ending her own life by hanging.
According to Kachhwa Station House Officer (SHO) Amarjeet Singh, the tragedy occurred in Semri village of Kachhwa when 35-year-old Sangeeta, wife of Harishchandra, suffocated her two young children – Shivansh (3 years and 8 months) and Shubhankar (14 months) – by placing cloth in their mouths and then strangling them.
Following this, she used a coir rope to hang herself from the roof of her kutcha house, the officer explained.

Her husband was absent from home when the incident took place and returned after being informed about the situation.
Circle Officer (Sadar) Amar Bahadur stated that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, adding that the woman had just returned to her in-laws' residence from her maternal home in Chandauli district on Saturday morning.
Police have indicated that further investigation into this case is currently underway.
