In Nainpur, Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, a troubling incident has been documented showing female students in school uniforms purchasing alcoholic beverages from a government-operated liquor outlet.

This event has generated significant public backlash, caused embarrassment to local officials, and raised critical concerns regarding law enforcement effectiveness and community awareness throughout the state.

The widely circulated CCTV recording displays several schoolgirls in uniforms, partially concealing their identities with scarves, entering the liquor establishment. The footage clearly shows them approaching the counter, completing their purchase of alcohol, and departing the premises.

The store attendant not only acknowledged their request but completed the transaction, constituting a clear legal violation.

As the video rapidly spread online, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashutosh Thakur, accompanied by the Tehsildar and local law enforcement officers, immediately visited the establishment to conduct an on-site investigation.

Authorities carefully analyzed the security footage in detail.

Initial investigations confirmed the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages to underage individuals, an action that contravenes the General License Conditions (GLC) and represents a criminal offense under alcohol regulation statutes.

Following these discoveries, SDM Thakur directed the Excise Department to perform a comprehensive investigation and provide an immediate action report.

The proprietor of the establishment is currently undergoing questioning, and officials are additionally investigating whether the students acted independently or were dispatched by others.

"Our investigation has confirmed the incident occurred as reported. A comprehensive report will be forwarded to the Collector promptly. The liquor establishment's operating license will be canceled and financial penalties imposed. The employee responsible for selling alcohol to minors will be dismissed. Providing alcoholic beverages to underage individuals constitutes a serious violation of licensing requirements," stated District Excise Officer Ramji Pandey.

This revelation has sparked widespread indignation throughout Mandla and surrounding regions. Community members have called for stringent measures against the shop owner and administrative accountability, questioning how minors could purchase alcohol so blatantly.

The controversy has swiftly entered the political arena.

Former MLA and Congress District President Dr. Ashok Marskole strongly denounced the incident, stating, "When Jitu Patwari referenced a central government report highlighting increasing alcoholism in Madhya Pradesh, BJP representatives burned his effigy. Today, with schoolgirls purchasing liquor in Nainpur, where are these same leaders and their supposed women's empowerment advocates?"
