Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed BJP workers in Bihar, emphasizing that the "jungle raj" period would remain in people's memories for at least a century to come. He urged party workers to encourage elderly voters to share their experiences from that era with younger generations.
PM Modi asserted that regardless of the opposition's attempts to conceal past misconduct, the public would not forgive them. Taking aim at the Opposition alliance, he referred to it as "lathbandhan" (a coalition of criminals) rather than gathbandhan (alliance), pointing out that their leaders from both Delhi and Bihar were currently out on bail.
The term "jungle raj" has been consistently used by the BJP to criticize the period when Bihar was governed by Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav, who is the father of Grand Alliance Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav.
Speaking at the "Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot: Yuva Samvaad" event via video conference, the Prime Minister stated: "I would tell all the youngsters in Bihar to gather all the young people at every booth and have the elderly people in that area come and tell everyone about the old stories from the jungle raj."
He highlighted that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the NDA coalition had worked diligently to "bring Bihar out of 'jungle raj' and establish the rule of law," resulting in people now proudly identifying themselves as Bihari.
PM Modi characterized the opposition Grand Alliance leaders as only capable of internal fighting and protecting their personal interests.
The Prime Minister described the upcoming election as an opportunity to create a new chapter in the state's history, with young voters playing a crucial role in this process.
"In Bihar, work is happening in every sector, in every direction. Hospitals are being built, good schools are being established and new railway routes are being developed," he remarked.
"A major reason for this is that there is a stable government in the country and in Bihar. When there is stability, development accelerates. This is the strength of Bihar's NDA government as well... That is why youngsters in Bihar are saying with enthusiasm -- 'raftaar pakad chuka Bihar, phir se NDA sarkar'," PM Modi concluded.
