Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for her birthday wishes, stating that he "deeply" values Italy's friendship and anticipates "strengthening it further." PM Modi celebrated his 75th birthday today, receiving numerous congratulatory messages from global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, across social media platforms.
"Happy 75th birthday to the Indian Prime Minister @narendramodi. His strength, determination, and ability to lead millions of people serve as an inspiration. With friendship and esteem, I wish him health and energy to continue guiding India toward a promising future and to further enhance the relations between our Nations," translated from Ms Meloni's Italian message.

Several other world leaders have sent their birthday greetings to PM Modi. US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin both made phone calls to Delhi to convey their wishes.

Others extending wishes via social media included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, among others.
Earlier today, PM Modi shared a series of posts on X expressing his gratitude to the public.
"I am truly overwhelmed by the countless wishes, blessings and messages of affection that have poured in from across the nation and overseas. This affection strengthens and inspires me. I thank the people for the same," he wrote.

The birthday celebrations have been accompanied by numerous programs and government schemes, including blood donation camps and medical check-up facilities.
Several welfare initiatives have also been launched, such as 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar' and '8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah' – representing the country's largest health outreach for women and children.
More than 1 lakh health camps are being organized across government facilities from September 17 to October 2.
