Newborn Set To Lose Hand After Greater Noida Hospital Gives Her Wrong Injection

A newborn infant's hand will require amputation following alleged medical negligence at a nursing home in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where staff administered an incorrect injection.

The baby girl, born on October 5, was taken to Gopal nursing home in Greater Noida after her health deteriorated. According to family members, following the administration of an injection, her hand began swelling and turning blue. Despite the family's concerns about her worsening condition, they received only reassurances without appropriate medical intervention.

As the infant's condition continued to decline, medical staff bandaged her hand and transferred her to another hospital, followed by a subsequent referral to yet another medical facility. The newborn's hand has now developed a severe infection and is approaching necrosis, necessitating amputation.

Baleshwar Bhati, the infant's father, has lodged a police complaint alleging medical negligence and has called for strict action against the hospital administration.

Law enforcement officials have contacted the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar requesting the formation of an investigative committee to provide a report, which will determine further legal proceedings.
