Karnataka BJP Leader Predicts Congress Government Collapse Amid Infrastructure Crisis and Political Turmoil

Karnataka's BJP opposition leader R Ashoka forecasts the collapse of the Congress government by year-end, citing Bengaluru's deteriorating infrastructure, investment flight, and internal political divisions. His critique highlights the growing public dissatisfaction with road conditions, traffic congestion, and alleged mismanagement of tax funds, further intensified by Google's decision to establish its AI hub in neighboring Andhra Pradesh instead of Karnataka.

Karnataka's Congress government, currently facing intense criticism over Bengaluru's deteriorating infrastructure and its negative impact on investments, while simultaneously dealing with internal factionalism and corruption allegations, will collapse before year-end according to BJP leader R Ashoka's scathing assessment of the ruling party.

Ashoka also criticized Congress leaders amid ongoing tensions with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which serves as the BJP's ideological foundation. Senior Congress officials, including IT Minister Priyank Kharge and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra, had previously called for restrictions on Sangh activities.

In his Monday morning press conference, the BJP's Ashoka predicted a leadership change, stating, "There is no development... there is no money in the treasury, but they want to divert the issue and are using the name of the RSS. This government will fall by November or December..."

"There is internal bickering... dissent... disagreement. This government has gone astray," he remarked in his fierce criticism of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Under their leadership, the BJP leader claimed that Karnataka had "descended into a jungle raj... where arrogance replaces accountability and intimidation replaces governance". He added, "The so-called 'Karnataka model of governance' has become a model of chaos, corruption, and collapse."

Addressing multiple issues, particularly the condition of Bengaluru's public infrastructure, he accused Congress of 'tax chori' while displaying a letter from resident groups questioning the rationale behind paying property taxes when the government fails to provide "good public infrastructure." The letter highlighted numerous problems including massive traffic congestion, potholed streets, and flooding roads.

"Mr Rahul Gandhi, Bengaluru has a new slogan: Congress 'tax chor hai!' ('The Congress is a tax thief!')," he posted on X. "Thanks to the apathy of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar, Bengaluru citizens are fed up and demanding: Stop this 'tax chori!'"

The infrastructure quality concerns have dominated headlines since mid-September, when a logistics firm founder announced relocating his business due to traffic and poor road conditions. Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh promptly offered his state as an alternative destination, triggering a heated exchange between him and Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge.

This dispute intensified considerably after Google chose Andhra Pradesh over Karnataka for its new $15 billion AI hub, with Nara Lokesh responding with a 'spicy food' taunt directed at his Karnataka counterparts.
