An Air India Express flight destined for Dibrugarh experienced technical difficulties on Monday, necessitating its return to Guwahati. After maintenance personnel addressed the issue, the aircraft successfully completed its journey to the intended destination, according to official sources.

The Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft departed from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati at 12:20 pm with an expected arrival at Dibrugarh airport scheduled for 1:25 pm.

As the aircraft approached its landing phase, flight crew identified an avionics malfunction connected to one of the wings, prompting immediate action from the pilots.

"The decision was made to return to Guwahati. Following a comprehensive inspection and repair of the technical problem by engineering staff, flight IX-1186 departed Guwahati and arrived safely in Dibrugarh at 6:20 pm," an official explained.

No passengers sustained injuries during the incident.

Attempts to contact Air India's spokesperson for comment were unsuccessful.
