A young child in Tamil Nadu experienced a frightening situation when her finger became trapped in an idli tray, necessitating a meticulous rescue operation by fire brigade personnel that extended beyond an hour.
The incident took place in Thrissur, Tamil Nadu on Sunday when the 18-month-old girl was playing in the kitchen area and accidentally inserted her finger into an idli tray. Despite her parents' various attempts to free her finger, they were unsuccessful in their efforts.
Emergency services were promptly contacted, and fire brigade officials arrived at the scene. Using specialized cutting equipment, they carefully worked to remove the tray while continuously pouring cold water over the child's finger to prevent any potential burns. To keep the distressed toddler calm throughout the procedure, they thoughtfully played cartoon videos.
Footage obtained by NDTV shows five dedicated rescue workers persisting with the delicate operation, maintaining their focus even as the child cried in discomfort.
After approximately 90 minutes of careful work, the team successfully freed the toddler's finger without causing any injury to the child.
