Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh Receives Y+ Security Protection Before Bihar Assembly Elections

Prominent Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has been granted Y+ category security months ahead of the Bihar assembly elections following his return to the BJP. This security upgrade comes as Singh prepares for the 2025 Bihar elections, while his wife Jyoti Singh also announces her political ambitions in the state.

Bhojpuri Actor-Politician Pawan Singh Gets Y+ Security Ahead Of Bihar Polls

Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has been granted Y+ category security several months before the Bihar assembly elections, according to sources.

Neither the Ministry of Home Affairs nor Mr. Singh has issued an official statement regarding this development. The security provision comes shortly after Singh rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which forms part of the governing coalition in Bihar.

Y+ category security typically consists of approximately 11-12 security personnel, including two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and eight to ten commandos. This protection is usually provided by agencies such as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Security coverage is allocated based on threat assessments conducted by the Intelligence Bureau and undergoes periodic reviews.

Prior to last year's Lok Sabha elections, Singh was expelled from the BJP after he declared his independent candidacy from Karakat parliamentary constituency, opposing the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He narrowly lost to CPI-ML's Rajaram Singh Kushwaha.

"I have contested the Lok Sabha elections. Now, I will fight the Bihar Assembly elections 2025," Singh stated earlier this year.

When questioned about potentially running on a BJP ticket, he responded, "Let the time come, everything will be clear."

On September 30, Singh met with Union Ministers Amit Shah and J P Nadda, who also serves as the BJP national president. The singer confirmed his membership in the BJP.

In addition to meeting Shah and Nadda, Singh also met with Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president and NDA ally Upendra Kushwaha, who suffered defeat in the Lok Sabha polls due to Singh's decision to run as an independent.

Singh was joined by BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde and party secretary Rituraj Sinha for the meeting.

Tawde, who serves as the BJP's organizational in-charge of Bihar, confirmed that Singh is a BJP member and will actively work for the ruling NDA in the state.

Jyoti Singh, the singer's wife, has also announced her intention to contest the Bihar elections. She indicated she might run from either Karakat or Dehri Assembly constituency.

She has been actively involved as a social worker, engaging with the public.

During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she campaigned for her husband in Karakat, establishing strong connections with the local population.
