Shocking Video: Woman Assaults Elderly Mother-in-Law While Son Pleads for Her to Stop in Punjab Home

A distressing video has emerged showing a woman violently assaulting her elderly mother-in-law while her son desperately pleads for her to stop. In the footage, the woman can be seen pulling her mother-in-law's hair, slapping and hitting her repeatedly, all while ignoring her child's cries in Punjabi, "Mumma na karo (Don't do it, mother)." The boy, who captured this shocking incident on his phone, claimed that such abuse was a regular occurrence in their home in Punjab's Gurdaspur.

The video begins with Harjeet Kaur dragging her mother-in-law Gurbajan Kaur by her hair. Despite her son's pleas to release his grandmother, Harjeet continues to assault the elderly woman with blows and verbal abuse.

During the altercation, Harjeet is seen using derogatory language toward her mother-in-law before forcefully pushing her onto a couch. The situation escalates when Harjeet grabs a steel glass and strikes Gurbajan twice before throwing it to the ground.

As the confrontation continues, Harjeet pushes her mother-in-law again. The elderly woman desperately attempts to defend herself by using her leg to push away her daughter-in-law, but Harjeet grabs the leg and delivers two more slaps, causing Gurbajan to cry out loudly.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday when Harjeet discovered her mother-in-law recording her abusive behavior.

In her statement to police, Gurbajan Kaur, who is widowed, alleged that Harjeet has been pressuring her to transfer all her property to her. Charatveer Singh, Gurbajan's grandson, informed authorities that his mother frequently beat and verbally abused his grandmother when intoxicated. He further claimed that both he and his father were also victims of his mother's physical abuse.

When Charatveer approached the police with his video evidence, they questioned why he recorded the assault rather than intervening. He explained, "I recorded the incident on camera as proof. My mother once filed a complaint against me as well and has threatened to take revenge and repeat her actions."

Gurbajan Kaur claims her daughter-in-law has a "long history of physical assault," which has been documented by her grandson on multiple occasions. Additional videos shared by Charatveer show Harjeet hitting her husband with a slipper and allegedly locking Charatveer up to prevent him from seeing his grandmother.

Police have issued a warning to Harjeet Kaur following these revelations.
