The newly constructed Delhi BJP office features architectural elements inspired by South Indian design traditions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new headquarters of Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) located on Deendayal Upadhyay Marg on Monday.
The inauguration ceremony, coinciding with the seventh day of Navratri festivities, represents a significant achievement for the party's Delhi unit, which has previously operated from temporary or leased facilities.
The impressive five-storey building covers 30,000 square feet and has been designed to harmoniously integrate traditional architectural elements with modern amenities. According to party officials, the building's design draws inspiration from South Indian architectural styles, featuring prominent pillars at its entrance and façade.
Constructed on an 825-square-metre plot, the environmentally conscious structure is outfitted with cutting-edge facilities.
The comprehensive building includes two basement levels dedicated to parking, addressing a frequent concern for visitors. The ground floor contains a reception area, conference facilities, and dining services. The first floor features an auditorium that can accommodate 300 people for party gatherings and conferences.
The second floor will serve as a workspace for various Delhi BJP departments and personnel. The third floor has been allocated to senior leadership positions, including vice presidents, general secretaries, and secretaries. The topmost floor is reserved for the Delhi BJP president, the general secretary (organisation), and includes rooms for MPs and state unit supervisors.
A high-ranking BJP official highlighted the practical benefits of the new headquarters: "The new building will resolve issues related to accommodating offices for various organizations and party MPs that existed at the previous Pant Marg location."
The Delhi BJP has operated from a bungalow on Pandit Pant Marg in Lutyens' Delhi for approximately 35 years, after previously relocating from Ajmeri Gate and Rakabganj Road. The new headquarters aims to consolidate all organizational divisions under a single roof.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva described the new office as the culmination of years of dedication and persistence. "The party office represents more than just physical space; it's a center of values where the spirit of party workers is cultivated," he remarked. He noted that BJP chief JP Nadda laid the foundation stone on June 9, 2023.
Sachdeva further characterized the relocation as a pivotal development: "This journey has included numerous challenges but has also been remarkable. The Prime Minister's inauguration of this facility will constitute a historic moment for the party's Delhi branch."
The inauguration event will be attended by BJP chief JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, veteran leaders, Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs, councilors, and thousands of party workers.
