The Election Commission delegation, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, is scheduled to visit Patna on October 4 and 5 to evaluate Bihar's election preparedness, according to officials' statements on Saturday.
Bihar's 243-member legislative assembly term concludes on November 22, with assembly elections anticipated to take place in November.
It is standard procedure for the electoral authority to conduct state visits prior to announcing the election schedule.
Officials confirmed that the team led by the Chief Election Commissioner will be present in Bihar on October 4 and 5.
A briefing session for general, police, and expenditure observers appointed by the Election Commission for the Bihar elections is expected to be held in Patna on October 3.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's voter list is approaching completion, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on September 30.
During its review of election readiness, the Commission meets with representatives from political parties, senior police and administrative officials, and state election officials.
The special intensive revision, occurring after more than twenty years, has faced strong criticism from opposition parties, who claim it will deprive millions of legitimate citizens of their voting rights.
The Commission has firmly stated that it will ensure no eligible citizen is excluded from the voter list, while simultaneously preventing ineligible individuals from being included.
