Trump Demands Microsoft Fire Former Biden Official Lisa Monaco Over National Security Concerns

President Donald Trump has called for Microsoft to terminate Lisa Monaco, its head of global affairs and former deputy attorney general under Biden, citing national security concerns related to her access to sensitive information through Microsoft's government contracts. This demand follows a pattern of actions against political opponents, including the recent indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

Trump Urges Microsoft To Fire Ex-Biden Administration Official

President Donald Trump on Friday publicly called for Microsoft to dismiss Lisa Monaco, the company's head of global affairs.

Trump took to Truth Social demanding the immediate termination of Monaco, who previously served as a high-ranking official in Democratic administrations.

"It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco," Trump stated in his social media post.

Since beginning his presidential term in January, Trump has implemented several punitive actions against those he considers enemies and political opponents.

Just a day before his comments about Monaco, former FBI Director James Comey was indicted on two criminal charges. Trump remarked on Friday that he "hopes there are others" who might face similar consequences.

In his criticism of Monaco, Trump emphasized her previous role as deputy attorney general during the Biden administration, during which criminal cases were initiated against him.

"Monaco has been shockingly hired as the President of Global Affairs for Microsoft, in a very senior role with access to Highly Sensitive Information," Trump wrote. "Monaco's having that kind of access is unacceptable, and cannot be allowed to stand."

The president further claimed, "She is a menace to US National Security, especially given the major contracts that Microsoft has with the United States Government. The US Government recently stripped her of all Security Clearances, took away all of her access to National Security Intelligence, and banned her from all Federal Properties."

After departing from the White House in 2021, Trump became the subject of multiple investigations.

The FBI conducted a raid at his Mar-a-Lago residence in 2022 as part of an investigation into the alleged mishandling of classified documents. Additionally, Special Counsel Jack Smith charged Trump with attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Neither case proceeded to trial. Following Trump's victory in the November 2024 election, Smith dropped both cases in accordance with the Justice Department's policy against prosecuting a sitting president.
