Man Arrested In Amethi For 'Abusing' PM Modi In Video

A man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly made "derogatory remarks" against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a video that surfaced on social media, officials said.

A man was apprehended on Wednesday for allegedly making "derogatory remarks" against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a video that appeared on social media platforms, officials reported.

The individual, identified as Meraj, approximately 30 years old, has been taken into custody, according to Station House Officer (SHO) Abhinesh Kumar.

Police stated that in a video that emerged on Tuesday evening, the suspect used "abusive language" directed at PM Modi and Mr Adityanath.

BJP district president Sudhanshu Shukla informed PTI that such comments targeting the country's top leadership "will not be tolerated".

"We have communicated with the superintendent of police and are expecting strict legal action," Shukla added.
