Tiger Attack Claims Life of 45-Year-Old Woman in Maharashtra's Chandrapur District

A tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on Saturday when a tiger fatally attacked a 45-year-old woman. The victim, identified as Aruna Arun Raut, was collecting cotton in a farm located in the Sindewahi forest range when the unfortunate encounter took place during the evening hours.

According to Range Forest Officer Anjali Sayankar, who provided details about the incident, the woman was engaged in agricultural work when the tiger attacked her. The attack happened within the vicinity of the forest range, an area known for tiger presence.

This incident highlights the ongoing human-wildlife conflict challenges in regions bordering forest areas in Maharashtra, particularly in Chandrapur district which is home to significant tiger populations.
